I'm an immigrant who came to this great country called United States of America 28 years ago in search of my America Dream, and I have not been disappointed.
I learned that in this land of opportunities, if you are willing to work hard, learn, and try, then anything is possible. With language and cultural barriers, and lack of resources, I was able to finish my Master Degree in Computer Science, helped establish an engineering consulting firm, and was successfully elected to San Antonio City Council as the first immigrant Councilmember.
This country and its people never ceased to amaze and impress me. We are a group of very resourceful and resilient people with great hearts. We rise out of difficult situations time and time again and become stronger each time.
Through my journey, I've learned the meaning of giving back to the community. Just like I have benefited from many others' hard work, I want to make my contributions to help others and the community.
